Responsibilities include managing daily custodial services, supporting special events, emergencies, and after-hours needs, and assisting with shift coverage. The manager ensures efficient, cost-effective services, oversees personnel, monitors contracted services, and implements quality assurance programs. The engineer responds to service requests, maintains swimming pools, and keeps detailed logs of maintenance activities.

This skilled generalist uses journey-level mechanical or plumbing skills, along with expertise in other trades, to perform preventive and general maintenance, repair, construction, and renovation on utility systems. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment for steam heating, chilled water, drainage, water distribution, and fire alarm/security networks to ensure a clean, safe campus. The mechanic also uses a computerized maintenance system for preventive tasks.
