Position Summary

Under the lead work direction of the AA/S NE, EES I, EES II and direction of the designated HEERA manager, the ASC II is responsible for the planning, delivery, promotion, evaluation, and tracking of various courses, programs, workshops, seminars, and special events with a high level of complexity. The senior program coordinator serves as lead in meetings with other departments regarding courses, recommends changes to current processes, serves as a point of contact for program information (internally and externally), represents the program at industry events, and may provide training to ASA II, ASC I, or temporary assistants. The senior program coordinator’s responsibilities are completed using both established policies and procedures and major deviations from these processes. Supervisory review is sought for any extreme deviation prior to implementation. The supervisor sets broad goals and objectives for the position. The senior program coordinator will be primarily responsible for assisting with project management and ongoing student services, coordinating program/course implementation and providing support to faculty, staff, and students; day-to-day coordination of academic programs, outreach and promotion. The senior program coordinator will also be responsible for documenting organizational policies, procedures and best practices.
 

FLSANon-Exempt (Eligible for overtime compensation)

Anticipated Hiring Range: $4,058 per month - $4,706 per month. Anticipated hiring range commensurate with candidate's education. experience, skills, and training.

Work Hours: Work hours are established within CCE's operating hours of Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.  Some evening and weekend hours may be required.

Department Information 

The College of Continuing Education (CCE) extends the mission of the university by increasing access for non-traditional learners. With a primary expertise on serving adult learners, CCE provides programs and services to individuals and employers year-round, unbound by traditional semester schedules and formats. CCE serves a hybrid student body that extends beyond California, serving over 80,000 learners annually through in-person, hybrid and fully online workshops, courses, conferences, certificate and degree programs.

Minimum Qualifications 

Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.
 
These entry qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.
