Anticipated Hiring Range

$6,970.00 - $7,319.00 Per Month ($83,640.00 - $87,828.00 Annually)

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Position Summary

The Program Lead oversees the daily operations of a portfolio of programs primarily for international students. Responsibilities include oversight of program financials, curriculum, enrollment management, marketing, staff, teacher and faculty hiring, and student services. The Program Lead will also collaborate with other staff to support additional programs as needed. 

The Program Lead reports to the Assistant Dean, College of Professional & Global Education and may provide lead work direction to staff members and part-time English language teachers. 

Position Information

Program Operations

  • Assist with financial reporting, including assistance with annual program budgets, monitoring revenues, adjusting expenses, payments to faculty, and agents 
  • Develop and monitor and maintain standard operating procedures for all programs  
  • Process student assistant and faculty appointment letters and payroll requests 
  • Coordinate and lead meetings 
  • Schedule classrooms and teaching assignments 
  • Oversee learning assessment of students 
  • Support development and review of curriculum on a regular basis 
  • Provide workshops for teachers as needed 
  • Plan orientation, commencement and other student events 
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations; Interface with DHS, USIA, DOS, and other governmental agencies 
  • Represent CPaGE at campus-wide international meetings or committee 
  • Work with campus partners on protocols related to MMR and insurance 
  • Provide lead work direction to others with accountability for results 

Program Development

  • Collaborate with academic departments to develop and produce new educational offerings and CPaGE Associate Dean to secure appropriate campus approvals. 
  • Manage existing intensive English custom training programs 
  • Create and implement assessment measures to ensure delivery of a high-quality product 
  • Develop relationships with outside entities or agencies 
  • Help develop marketing, promotional, and publicity strategies and events in conjunction with the marketing team, including updating marketing information (e.g., website and print) 
  • Collaborate with recruitment team on recruitment activities 
  • Promote CGE in relevant professional networks 

Student Support

  • Collaborate with CPaGE Assistant Dean to support student retention and matriculation to state-support programs.   
  • Liaise with faculty and administrators from colleges on programmatic and student issues 
  • Liaise with support units on campus to ensure students receive appropriate services (e.g., Student Health Center, Counseling and Psychological Services, Mashouf Wellness Center, Disability Programs and Resource center, Career Services, etc.) 
  • Collaborate with housing coordinator on housing arrangements for students and groups
  • Act as a resource and support advising staff to mitigate any crisis or complex student issues E
  • Assist advising team to counsel students through course selection

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Entry to this classification requires general knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Education (TESOL, Higher Education Administration, International Education, Student Affairs, etc.), counseling, or a related field
  • Experience managing non-degree, revenue generating programs 
  • Experience managing an Intensive English Program
  • Experience in program development
  • Experience in planning classes and curriculum for higher extended education programs including developing resources, assist budgets, marketing plans and liaison with the community
  • Experience in classroom teaching, developing curricula, planning and administering continuing education programs for international students
  • Ability to interpret and apply university, program, and immigration rules and regulations
  • Experience working in a collective bargaining environment
  • Knowledge of California State University and University policies and procedures
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and experience with international students' linguistic, academic, and cultural needs
  • Ability to effectively supervise the work of others
  • Ability to advise students individually and in groups on routine matters where required
  • Ability to gather and analyze data
  • Strong organizational and program planning skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to speak Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Arabic or other language
  • Demonstrated involvement in relevant professional associations (NAFSA, BAPIER, etc.)

Environmental/Physical/Special

Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours will be required.
