Job Summary

*This position is open to current SJSU employees only.*  

The Interim CRM Program Director reports to the AVP, Strategic Planning & Portfolio Management. The position leads the execution of CRM strategies, providing break-through insights to help create change management, marketing strategies, communications plans, and lead CRM programs that can be measured and optimized.  This position will oversee the SJSU’s instances of the CRM system for admissions and enrollment management, student success, university advancement and alumni engagement. The Interim CRM Program Director will provide support and creative problem solving to ensure that the CRM system will support the future vision of SJSU's student engagement, providing a best-in-class user experience to SJSU’s applicants, students and alumni.

The Interim CRM Program Director will work with key stakeholders to understand the business needs of those areas and serve as a liaison with campus stakeholders and vendors. The incumbent will oversee the management of SJSU’s CRM including import of datasets, applications, forms and queries as well as long-term infrastructure for reports, fields, and rules.

The Interim CRM Program Director serves as a member of the SJSU-IT extended leadership team and works with the campus community and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable CRM solutions, re-architect current business practices to improve efficiencies and implement value mapping/cost-avoidance projects. The incumbent will lead technical project teams in all technical matters including external consultants and service providers as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of CRM cloud computing platform and SLATE technologies
  • Strong skills in CRM technology including Marketing Automation platforms and CRM tools; experienced in higher-education marketing and communications
  • Ability to lead enterprise-wide CRM implementation and migration efforts
  • Skills in driving enterprise level change management effort
  • Advanced knowledge of Slate; ability to act as a knowledge resource and advocate for the value of CRM
  • Ability to add new CRM processes phase out old processes that are no longer valuable/productive.
  • Strong combination of demonstrated skills in strategic planning, analytical and holistic problem-solving, project management, effective communication and coordination of internal and external resources
  • Strong knowledge of Project management principles, practices, and procedures (Agile/SDLC)
  • PMP certification or equivalent experience
  • Ability to evaluate campus operations and implement technology that delivers strategic growth and maximizes SJSU investments
  • Proven skills in business and technical requirement analyses, modeling, verification, and methodology development
  • Strong understanding of application development and software development life-cycle concepts
  • Working knowledge of ITIL processes
  • Ability to lead and manage projects and change implementations in alignment with IT best practices
  • Ability to work in a position that requires a high degree of operations and service skills
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships with faculty and students who are technical and non-technical, management, and professional staff representing various interests and perspectives
  • Demonstrated leadership in a broad range of technology within a complex computing environment or a university environment

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, business administration, or related field or relevant experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role managing Slate CRM implementation and migration

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working with Slate as an Administrator
  • Experience with Slate, PeopleSoft and Dell Boomi
  • Experience with enrollment, admissions and student outreach processes

 

Compensation

Classification: Administrator II
Anticipated Hiring Range: $11,667/month
CSU Salary Range: $4,812/month - $15,449/month

Additional Information

Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. SJSU will issue a contingent offer of employment to the selected candidate, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information.
