Job Summary

The School of Nursing is seeking an Administrative Analyst Specialist to provide comprehensive administrative and analytical support for faculty, staff, and students. Reporting to the Director of Resources and Operations for the College of Health and Human Sciences, and receiving work direction from the School Director, this position plays a critical role in the day-to-day operations of the School by coordinating personnel processes, supporting recruitment and payroll activities, managing administrative functions, and serving as a key resource on university policies and procedures.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage personnel administration, including faculty, staff, graduate assistant, and student assistant appointments, payroll processing, evaluations, and recruitment activities
  • Coordinate and support faculty affairs processes, including retention, tenure, promotion (RTP), assigned time reporting, and compliance with university and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee daily administrative operations for the School of Nursing, including records management, meeting coordination, travel processing, and communication with faculty, staff, students, and external agencies
  • Provide analytical and operational support for budgeting, reporting, workflow coordination, and implementation of university policies and procedures
  • Coordinate special projects, events, and departmental initiatives while serving as a key resource to support the School Director and academic programs

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training
  • Administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing and coordinating a complex office
  • Demonstrated experience tracking, organizing and distributing documents, including managing and filing documents electronically
  • Demonstrated excellent written and communication skills
  • Experience handling confidential information
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of MS Access and Adobe Acrobat, MS Office, spreadsheets, reporting, Gmail

 

Compensation

Classification: Administrative Analyst/Specialist - Non-Exempt
Anticipated Hiring Range: $5,850/month - $6,208/month (Step 11 – Step 14)
CSU Salary Range: $4,799/month - $6,992/month (Step 1 – Step 20)

Additional Information

Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. SJSU will issue a contingent offer of employment to the selected candidate, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information.
